Preliminary Round
Recording: Audition recordings from applicants will be copied and sent to the judges in complete anonymity - such tapes to include no more than half an hour of music containing two contrasting pieces.
Semi-final Round
a) -J.S.Bach Two contrasting movements from the Six Sonatas for Violin and
Harpsichord (Piano) BWV 1014-1019
b) One of the following choices
- Paganini One of the 24 Caprices, Op.. 1 for violin solo
- Elgar One of the "Etude Charasteristique" for violin solo
- Wieniawski One of the Caprices for violin solo
c) A large virtuoso piece (eg. Chausson, Wieniawski, Ravel, Sarasate, etc
Final Round (Candidates selected for the final will perform with the Uralsk Philharmonic Orchestra)
